Mrs. Thierry was born and raised in Hudsonville, Michigan where she completed her undergraduate studies at the nearby Grand Valley State University. She majored in Health Sciences and obtained a minor in Spanish.
After graduating with honors from GVSU, Melissa accepted a position utilizing her skills in Spanish and medicine at Northwest Michigan Health Services Inc. as a nurse assistant/medical interpreter. In this position she was able to serve and interpret for the underprivileged population of migrant farm workers in the clinic as well as the migrant camps.
Melissa continued her studies to become a Physician Assistant at the University of South Alabama. During her training at USA she had the opportunity to work with a renowned Moh’s surgeon at a dermatology practice in Grandville, Michigan. Her time with this practice further ignited her passion for dermatology.
Mrs. Thierry is a board certified Physician Assistant who specializes in dermatology and is a member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants as well as the American Academy of Physician Assistants.
Melissa and her husband Levi moved to Virginia Beach in 2012 where they are enjoying being newlyweds. They spend their free time working out, hiking, and boating. They also enjoy visiting her family in Hudsonville, Michigan and his family in Dauphin Island, Alabama.
